Geography and location

Svet Map of Slovakia is right here.

Sučany is a village located in the Váh river basin in the northern part of Central Slovakia. It is 5 km from the city of Martin, the centre of the administrative district. It lies approximately 3.5 hours by the road from capital, Bratislava, and just one hour from Banská Bystrica, the largest city in Central Slovakia and a growing financial centre of the country.

The Turiec basin and its environs are known for their beautiful natural scenery, in particular the low Fatra National Park. The mountains, bordering the Turiec basin provide excellent opportunities for skiing, hiking and cycling throughout the year.
